A body found in the Delaware River on Thursday appears to be that of a 16-year-old who disappeared while tubing the day before, authorities said.
The Willingboro teen was among a group of six from the Marlton Family Guidance Center who rented tubes early Wednesday from Delaware River Tubing near the Kingswood boat launch not far from Frenchtown.
About a half-mile downstream, near Treasure Island, the teen became separated from his tube and tried to swim upstream to retrieve it, but then disappeared in the water, said Anthony P. Kearns, the Hunterdon County prosecutor.
