Officials were investigating the shooting of an 18-year-old man by a Philadelphia police officer early Saturday in the city's Frankford section.
The victim was identified as Jose Torres, of the 2200 block of Cambria Street, said police spokesman Lt. Ray Evers.
Evers provided the following account of the incident:
Police arrived at the 4600 block of Worth Street to disperse a large crowd that had gathered outside Timmy's Bar. Torres bolted from the crowd, and in the process dropped a 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
