Connecticut. Mystic Outdoor Art Festival is Aug. 11-12 in downtown Mystic. More than 250 fine artists will exhibit oils, watercolors, photography, pastels, sculpture & acrylics. Sixty-one fine crafters will display their works. There will be children's art activities and food and beverages. Aug. 11 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Aug. 12 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free. mysticchamber.org.

Delaware. The Riverfront Blues Festival is Aug. 3-5 at Tubman–Garrett Riverfront Park, South French & Water Streets, Wilmington. The outdoor music festival has a three-day pass, sold in advance only, for $50. Daily admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door on Aug. 3, and $20 in advance, $25 at the door on Aug. 4 and 5. Massachusetts. Mashpee Summer Arts & Crafts Festival, on the Library Commons at 64 Steeple St., is Aug. 4-5 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. This juried show and sale includes accessories, glassworks, pet products, jewelry, pottery, shell craft, quilts, demonstrations. Also, food and music. Admission is free. www.castleberryfairs.com.

New Hampshire. Cheshire Fair 2012 is Aug. 1-5 in Swanzey. It includes a demolition derby, ATV rodeo, bull riding, animal shows, arts and crafts, karaoke shows, puppet shows, 4-H exhibits, draft horse pulls, oxen and tractor pulls, woodsmen and pie-eating contests. New Jersey. Battle at the Beach Grappling Tournament, Aug. 3-5 at 4501 Boardwalk in Wildwood, is a mixed martial arts competition with contestants from the tri-state area. Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. features 10 professional MMA fights; tickets start at $30. New York. Annual Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally is Aug. 3-5 in Otsiningo Park, Binghamton. The annual celebration for all ages features hot-air balloons, arts and crafts, music, antique cars, kids activities, and food. Special guest appearance by actor Jake T. Pennsylvania. The Scranton Jazz Festival is Aug. 3-5. Features more than 100 international, national, and regional jazz/blues and world beat artists. Tickets are $25 Aug. 3 and $20 Aug. 4 and 5. scrantonjazzfestival.org.

Rhode Island. Little Compton Antiques Festival is Aug. 3-4 at Sakonnet Vineyards and Winery, 162 W. Main Rd. The Aug. 3 preview party, from 6-8 p.m., is $40 in advance and $45 at the door, and includes food, complimentary wine, music, early buying privileges and entry the next day. Vermont. Festival of Fools 2012 is Aug. 3-5 at the Church Street Marketplace and City Hall Park in Burlington. The festival features street performers from around the globe on four main stage locations surrounding the Church Street Marketplace and City Hall Park. There will also be a Kids' Zone. Virginia. Clam Slam Festival is Aug. 4-5 at Cape Charles Harbor. From 6-10 p.m. Aug. 4 there will live music and a Corn Hole contest, among other games.
