Freedoms lose despite Gregorc's win over Isner

LUKA GREGORC'S victory over John Isner was an individual achievement. But that means little in the realm of World Team Tennis.

Gregorc defeated Isner, ranked 11th in the world, 5-4, but the Freedoms lost to the host Boston Lobsters, 21-13, Monday night.

The Freedoms' only other victory came in women's singles where Kristyna Pliskova downed Irina Falconi, 5-2.

In men's doubles, Eric Butorac teamed with Isner to defeat Gregorc and Jordan Kerr, 5-2. In women's doubles, Falconi and Carly Gullickson-Eagle shut out twins Kristyna and Karolina Pliskova, 5-0. And in mixed doubles, Karolina Pliskova and Kerr fell to Isner and Gullickson-Eagle, 5-1.

The Freedoms play the Kastles in Washington, D.C., Tuesday night and return home to host the Lobsters at Villanova's Pavilion on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
