A ranking officer in the Police Department's Internal Affairs Unit is being investigated by his own unit for alleged sexual misconduct, Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey confirmed today.
According to Fox29, Staff Inspector Jerrold Bates has been accused of having sex with two female officers in his office.
In an interview with Fox29, Ramsey did not provide details about the allegations in detail, but called them "very troubling."
Ramsey said he has removed Bates from Internal Affairs while the investigation is under way.
