St. Joe's Molock suffers a torn ACL

Posted: July 27, 2012

St. Joseph's incoming freshman basketball player Kyle Molock suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during individual workouts on campus last week. He will undergo surgery on Aug. 10 and is expected to be out for the season.

Molock, a 6-foot-2 guard, re-tore the ACL that he had injured in January 2012 and had recovered from. This latest injury happened during a noncontact layup drill.

"Everyone involved in our program is supporting Kyle and his family at this difficult time," head coach Phil Martelli said in a statement. "He has, in a short time on campus, made a positive impression academically, athletically, and social."

Molock, from Dublin, Ohio, and Dublin Coffman High School, has battled knee injuries during his scholastic career. After his sophomore year, he suffered a more severe injury to the major ligaments in his left knee, which caused him to miss his junior season.
