For kicks: With a win, the Union would tie the Revolution for eighth place in the East ... New England is coming off a scoreless draw against Sporting Kansas City ... Revs captain Shalrie Joseph, who has missed time with multiple injuries, most notably a knee sprain and back stiffness, played 90 minutes in the Sporting KC match, his first full game since June 30 … Also returning, defender Stephen McCarthy, who has been out with a concussion suffered in the Revolution's loss to Toronto FC on July 14 … Much like the Union, injuries and inconsistency have plagued the Revolution, which is 1-2-1 in the month of July … Revolution forward Saer Sene leads the Revs with eight goals in 19 matches (17 starts) … New England had no players on All-Star coach Ben Olsen's 18-man game-day roster … Matt Reis, the Revs' longtime goalkeeper, has a 1.33 goals- against average and four shutouts, but has allowed 24 goals thus far in 18 matches played. By comparison, Union goalkeeper Zac MacMath, who did miss a pair of matches with a concussion, boasts a 1.19 GAA, allowing only 19 goals in 16 matches.
