Home invasion in Cherry Hill; police search for four bandits

Posted: August 01, 2012

An armed gunman, posing as a mailman, burst into a Cherry Hill home this afternoon accompanied by three other gun-wielding bandits, police said.

About 12:30 p.m. a man wearing a postal carrier's uniform knocked on the door of a home on the 1100 block of Society Hill Blvd.

As a female occupant opened the door the fake postman forced his way into the home. Once inside, three more gunmen entered, tied up the woman and her brother with belts and tape and ransacked the home, police said.

The men, three Hispanic and one black male, fled with an undetermined amount of cash and jewelry. The two bound siblings freed themselves 15 minutes later and called police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cherry Hill investigators at 856-488-7833.
