Eagles crunch time

Crunch Time is a compilation of notable hits, and a few misses, from Eagles training camp.

BETHLEHEM — Mike Kafka and Bryce Brown botched a handoff exchange during the live period, a goal-line set. Kafka tried to run it in himself. Defense didn't wait for a ruling on the red jersey and hitting the quarterback. It wasn't Michael Vick. A couple defenders crunched the backup.

Dion Lewis did not have as good a day Wednesday as he's been having. Fumbled after a big hit from Vinny Curry, dropped a pass at the sideline.

Rookie running back Chris Polk picked up the pace, showing the power he was advertised to have, especially on a run when Polk took on Moise Fokou, then steamed ahead several more yards.

Jeremy Maclin went off howling after ramming his right hand into the turf catching a pass, but a little time on the sideline with the medical staff determined he had just jammed some fingers. By the time the Twitter red alert had been sounded, Maclin was back on the field.

Todd Herremans pancaked Curry in a 1-on-1 drill, only to have Curry blow past him virtually untouched on the next rep.
