At Penn St, guilt just off the wall

Posted: August 07, 2012

I reckon I understand why the statue of head football coach Joe Paterno had to be removed from the Beaver Stadium entrance (although I believe the wins should still be officially on record since the players won those games ... with a coach who happened to be very good).

But I have to wonder why the university felt compelled to remove the images of four players on the wall behind where the statue was.

I haven't been up to State College lately, but unless those players were named on a plaque on the wall and they were directly connected in some way with the Jerry Sandusky child-sex scandal, why take perfectly good images of football players off the entrance of a football stadium?
