BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A Bethlehem woman was in prison Tuesday after she stabbed her boyfriend because he smacked her where she was sunburned, police said.

Tiffany Sherry, 24, stabbed her boyfriend three times Monday night, including once in the back as he fled, Bethlehem police said.

Michael Martinez told officers that Sherry was washing dishes when he slapped her sunburned backside as a joke. He said she turned around with a knife and stabbed him after he backed into the living room, investigators said.

Sherry was arrested on charges including aggravated and simple assault after Martinez called police from a neighbor's home. Authorities say Martinez was taken to a hospital for treatment. Sherry was being held at Northampton County Prison after failing to post $25,000 bail. - AP
