Streak ends

FOR THE first time since July 6, 2009, the Phillies did not sell out a home game, ending the club's streak of 257 straight regular-season sellouts.

Monday night's crowd of 41,665 was 1,986 shy of the official capacity of 43,651.

"The number of sellouts could not have been possible without the tremendous loyalty of our fans who continue to lead all of Major League Baseball in average attendance this year," Phillies president David Montgomery said in a statement.

The streak was the longest in National League history and the third-longest in Major League Baseball history, trailing the Red Sox' current streak of 772 and the Indians' streak of 455 from 1995-2001.
