Veteran Hollywood publicist Dale Olson, 78, who represented such Hollywood legends as Marilyn Monroe, Gene Kelly, and Alfred Hitchcock, and such current A-listers as Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg, died Thursday at a Burbank, Calif., hospital after a long battle with cancer. He had continued working until recently.
Perhaps Mr. Olson's most notable role was as the spokesman for Rock Hudson during the actor's widely publicized battle with AIDS in 1985. He is also credited with helping to launch the Rocky, Rambo, Superman, and Halloween film franchises.
