In an e-mail response to The Inquirer, Ronaldo once again demonstrated his admiration for MLS.
"The mentality of the MLS fans and players are in the right place, and the conditions and facilities are brilliant," he said.
Ronaldo likes the quality of play to a point.
"They are playing the best they can, but it can be better," he said.
And then Ronaldo reiterated what he recently said about possibly playing one day in MLS.
"I think they are heading in the right direction," he said of the league. "If I can come here to play one day and help improve the level, I would like to do so."
Again, this isn't expected to happen anytime soon, if it occurs at all, but the fact that he is considering this speaks about the respect the league has generated.
And who knows whether Philadelphia would be a potential destination. This is only speculation, but one thing is known: Local fans made a favorable impression on Ronaldo when he played last year at the Linc against the Union.
Real Madrid beat the Union, 2-1, on July 23 before a crowd of 57,305.
"What I remember very well are the people," Ronaldo said when asked his recollections of the event. "Philadelphia has huge fans that are so passionate and fanatical."
And it's not only the fans that made an impression.
"I enjoy the city a lot," he said. "It's a phenomenal sports town, and I'm looking forward to playing here again."
