NFL: Luck's first NFL pass: A 63-yard TD

Posted: August 14, 2012

INDIANAPOLIS - Andrew Luck knows life in the NFL can't be this easy for a rookie.

The No. 1 overall draft pick threw his first NFL pass for a long touchdown, just like Peyton Manning in 1998, then led Indianapolis to two more. Luck one-upped his predecessor by winning Sunday's preseason opener, 38-3, over St. Louis - Indy's first preseason-opening win since '94.

Johnson released. The Miami Dolphins have released wide receiver Chad Johnson a day after the wide receiver was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor domestic battery, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported. Johnson posted $2,500 bond and was released from jail after his wife, reality TV star Evelyn Lozada, accused him of head-butting her during an argument. The dispute simmered after Lozada found a receipt for a box of condoms, the Associated Press reported.

Johnson had been warned by the Dolphins about his behavior a couple of days earlier after Johnson liberally used profanity during an interview. The Dolphins signed Johnson in June. He was trying to make the team after a highly disappointing season with the New England Patriots last year.

Burress visits Pats. Veteran receiver Plaxico Burress is in New England for a workout with the Patriots. Burress spent last season with the Jets after finishing a 20-month sentence on a gun charge.
