A couple of quick strikes

Posted: August 15, 2012

Crunch Time is a compilation of notable hits and a few misses from Eagles training camp at Bethlehem.

* Michael Vick, moving to his left, lofted a long strike down the left sideline for Jason Avant, flicking it just over the coverage of Nnamdi Asomugha. Avant caught it in stride.

* O.J. Atogwe tried to jump a short route on Nick Foles and Clay Harbor. Foles zipped the ball to Harbor, who had no one behind him and romped to the end zone.

* Kurt Coleman sniffed out a budding flea flicker and "sacked" Vick, just after the QB got the ball back from LeSean McCoy.

* With the offensive starters playing the defensive starters, the ball was placed on the offense's 1-yard line, the offense given three chances to punch it out. Run for short gain, false start, then with the whole defensive line in his lap in the end zone, Vick found McCoy for a screen up the middle that went for about 20 yards.

* See Rich Hofmann's column for coverage of Monday's most notable "crunch," the unintentional collision between Nate Allen and Nnamdi Asomugha that ended with Asomugha riding a cart inside, to be checked for a concussion.
