Streater never got much of a chance to show what he could do in college. After graduating from Burlington Township High, he played defensive back and receiver for two years in junior college at Alfred State before transferring to Temple.
The Owls weren't much of a throwing team and Streater had just 49 catches in two seasons there, including only 19 his senior season.
Johnson's wife files. Evelyn Lozada is ending her 41-day-old marriage to Chad Johnson after the football star was arrested for allegedly head-butting her over the weekend. A rep for the VH1 reality star confirmed reports that Lozada filed for divorce Tuesday. Johnson was dumped by the Miami Dolphins a day after the arrest.
Medalist eyes gridiron. Former Florida running back Jeff Demps is attempting to catch on with an NFL team in time to play this season after participating in Olympic sprinting events for Team USA.
Demps, who runs a 4.29-second forty, could be used as a kickoff returner and third-down back.
Injury report. The Super Bowl champion New York Giants suffered another blow to their defensive line when three-time Pro Bowler Shaun Rogers was lost for the season due to treatment for a blood clot in his left leg. The defensive tackle, 33, experienced swelling in his lower leg after playing in the preseason opener on Friday. . . . Redskins nose tackle Chris Neild suffered a torn ACL in practice and will miss the rest of the season. Neild played in every game last season as a rookie and finished with 10 tackles and two sacks.
