Andrew Bynum addresses health issues

MUCH HAS BEEN made of the condition of Andrew Bynum's knees - particularly once reports surfaced that the newest Sixer would head to Germany in September to undergo a specialized procedure.

Wednesday, during his introduction to Philly, Bynum addressed his health issues and confirmed the reports of the procedure.

"I went through the whole season last year and didn't have any setbacks," he said. "As of right now, my knees feel good."

Bynum will be undergoing a proactive procedure in Germany, known as Orthokine/Regenokine. It's injection-based and considered non-surgical.

"I talked with Kobe [Bryant] about it - he had the procedure done," Bynum said. "He was fine with it. It is just a procedure that reduces inflammation. I am going to go over there and get that done so I can be in the best shape for these fans here and play the best that I can."
