Naked bike ride set for Saturday

Posted: August 24, 2012

THE THIRD-ANNUAL Philly Naked Bike Ride will return to the city Saturday.

Consisting of a two-hour ride, the Naked Bike Ride encourages all participants to ride in any state of (un) dress they please. All riders participate at their own risk.

The Naked Bike Ride is an international event that takes place in 70 cities over 20 countries. The ride is meant to promote cycling advocacy, positive body image and economic sustainability. It also aims to raise awareness about fuel consumption, but bikers can participate under any banner they choose, including simply having fun.

The route of the ride is kept secret until shortly before the event. Sign up at phillynakedbikeride.org, and a meeting spot will be emailed to you. The route of the ride will be announced at the meeting spot.
