Man dead in hit-and-run

Philadelphia police are searching for a driver who fatally stuck a pedestrian in a hit-and-run on Roosevelt Boulevard early Sunday morning.

The victim, a man believed to be between 25 and 35, was crossing the busy road at Hartel Avenue in the city's Lexington Park section when he was hit around 2:08 a.m. in the outer northbound lanes, police said.

Police do not have a description of the vehicle. They said its driver did not stop and sped away northbound on the boulevard.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:20 a.m. His identity has not been released.

Police said the vehicle that struck him should have damage to the driver's side, including a missing mirror.
