Helping kids pay for back-to-school supplies

Posted: August 29, 2012

BACK-TO-SCHOOL costs can be out of reach for struggling families. If you'd like to help, consider making a donation to:

* Cradles to Crayons, a Conshohocken-based nonprofit that partners with 260 social-service agencies to provide free school supplies - including socks, shoes, uniforms and backpacks - to needy kids. For information: cradlestocrayons.org, 215-836-0958.

* The Salvation Army Red Shield Family Residence, which also is working with local agencies to provide free school supplies to needy kids (PGW is making a big donation on Tuesday). To help, contact Josh Nonnenmocher at 215-825-4600 or Josh.Nonnenmocher@use.salvationarmy.org.
