Can't we keep track of the bad guys?

Posted: August 29, 2012

MUCH THANKS to the homicide detectives, U.S. marshals and local police for the capture of one of the suspects in Officer Walker's death. Here we go again: His grandmother said he's a sweetheart, but in the same breath says his mother turned him in to police for having a gun. When he was released, his parole officer asked if she would take him in; grandmother said she didn't need the drama. He's been in trouble since he was 12 years old, has a lengthy criminal history, was just released from county prison on Aug. 8 and failed to meet with his parole officer on the 15th. But, he's a sweetheart!

If we didn't have such liberal judges, maybe Officer Walker would be alive today. The judge sentenced him to six months house arrest on July 25, then releases him on Aug. 8 (figure that one out) without fitting him with an electronic device.

I have an idea, when these thugs, punks, lowlifes or whatever you want to call them that are committing these kind of crimes so early in life, maybe we should surgically install tracking devices in them like we do to wildlife. This way we know when they go astray.

Re: Councilwoman sued over Mantua feud ( Daily News, Aug. 22)

Councilwoman Blackwell does not have her facts straight. The Rev. Andrew Jenkins (a/k/a: Andy Jenkins) started in the '70s to rid gangs and bring peace to Mantua. He was very instrumental and effective with the guidance and assistance of Mayor Frank Rizzo. No one has done more for the Mantua community than Andy Jenkins.

I know - I was his secretary.
