Phillies Notes: Schwimer late to report to triple-A Lehigh Valley

Michael Schwimer did not report to triple-A Lehigh Valley in time for Monday's game, but general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said the Phillies have not placed the pitcher on the restricted list.

"He's not in Lehigh Valley, but we don't plan on taking any action," Amaro said Monday. "I really can't comment on anything else."

Schwimer, 2-1 with a 4.46 ERA in 35 appearances at the big-league level this season, was optioned to triple-A on Thursday, but he believes he should have been placed on the disabled list with elbow soreness. The pitcher reportedly is seeking a second opinion on his elbow.

Uganda in the park

Shortstop Jimmy Rollins and the Phillies will welcome the Ugandan Little League team to Citizens Bank Park Tuesday before the game against the New York Mets.

Lugazi, Uganda became the first team from Africa to win a Little League World Series game earlier this month after Rollins helped train the team during a visit to the country in January. Rollins, through his foundation, also donated $10,000 and equipment to the team.

The Ugandan team will visit the Phillies' clubhouse and dance with the Phillie Phanatic after the fifth inning.
