Made in America traffic shutdown begins

Posted: September 01, 2012

The entire Benjamin Franklin Parkway and other streets in the designated Made in America music festival event area were shut down to traffic beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Center lanes of the Parkway were closed Thursday while the outer lanes remained open for access to Kelly and Martin Luther King Drives.

At 10 a.m. today, Kelly Drive traffic was diverted to Fairmount Avenue and the Parkway's eastbound outer drive was closed from Eakins Oval to 20th Street.

The streets in the event area - essentially the Parkway and feeder streets, including Kelly Drive, Martin Luther King Blvd. and Spring Garden Street - will not reopen until some time Monday evening, or later.
