A woman was killed and two other people were seriously injured Monday night when their car ran off the road while racing another vehicle, slammed into sign supports and burst into flames in Bucks County, officials said.

The names of the victims have not been released yet.

Officials said the car carrying a man and two women ran off US 1 at the Street Road Exit about 10:25 p.m. and hit girders supporting the business sign of Driver's Choice, a car parts and accessories store.

The car rolled several times and caught fire.  The male driver and a front-seat female passenger were ejected from the vehicle while the second woman was pinned in the back, Bensalem police said.

Witnesses, including an off-duty officer, told police the car, a 2000 Volvo, had been speeding and racing a white Ford Crown Victoria on northbound Lincoln Highway when the crash occurred.

The survivors were taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital for treatment. Police said they do not believe alcohol was involved.
