Later that night, when Chris called Hope, she told him to go on YouTube, where she had posted the clip.
Hope said that her husband, a Bridesburg native and Roman Catholic High grad, was moved by the "USA! USA!" chants that broke out when her sign was displayed and that she can't wait until he comes home in May. The couple hope to see Springsteen together again soon.
Speaking of Springsteen...
Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder caught Monday's Springsteen show from a Citizens Bank Park suite. Vedder also visited Springsteen backstage before the concert. Vedder stuck around town after his band headlined Sunday's portion of the Budweiser Made in America festival.
* Comedian Artie Lange was also at Monday's show. The longtime Howard Stern sidekick hosts a syndicated talk show heard late nights on 610 WIP.
* Springsteen's people called Darling's Diner in the Piazza at Schmidts last minute Monday for a cake to celebrate the Boss' longtime manager Jon Landau and wife Barbara's 30th anniversary.
Is Amber Rose pregnant?
Amber Rose, the model and South Philly native, appears to have a baby bump in recent photos. Rose, who is engaged to rapper Wiz Khalifa, was photographed recently in Los Angeles holding her belly, which appears noticeably rounder.
Several months ago, Rose and Khalifa denied she was pregnant, but our radar was up when Rose appeared in July at the Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Film Festival to promote Smirnoff vodka but was not seen drinking any alcohol. Rose did not return our email seeking comment.
OUT AND ABOUT Drake stopped by Jill Scott's Blues Babe Foundation fundraiser at Union Transfer (10th & Spring Garden) late Sunday night. The soulful songbird and the Canadian rapper spent some time talking in a VIP area of the club. Scott, who performed at the Budweiser Made in America festival Sunday afternoon, greeted the crowd at her party but did not sing, as advertisements for the benefit had promised. Essence magazine representatives were on hand to unveil Scott's image on the magazine's October cover. * South Jersey-native soccer star Carli Lloyd served as honorary Philadelphia Union captain at the soccer club's Wednesday match against the Columbus Crew. The Olympic gold medalist signed autographs on the PPL Park plaza. * Charles Barkley, wife Maureen and friends caught the Eagles concert at Revel in Atlantic City on Sunday. The group dined at the American Cut restaurant, and big-time gambler Barkley played a bit in the Ultra Lounge. * Fox 29 "Good Day" anchor Mike Jerrick answered Sheila E.'s call when the musician asked for audience members to dance onstage at her concert Friday at Penn's Landing's Great Plaza. The show was presented by Peco Energy.
