A two-year-old boy was kidnapped by three masked, armed men in Upper Dublin Township overnight and was eventually found safe wandering a Philadelphia street.

Details are still unfolding.

Upper Dublin received a call at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday saying that a man had been assaulted and his son taken from the Woods Apartments on the 1400 block of Butler Pike in the Fort Washington area.

The incident occurred as the father was returning home and leaving his rental car to enter an apartment. It was not clear as of early this morning whether the boy was still in the car at the time of the attack.

The man fought back, but without success.

Pennsylvania State Police immediately issued an Amber alert overnight seeking Tymire Dior Smith, 2. The boy was last seen wearing a superman t-shirt, blue jeans and black and blue colored sneakers.

The alert said police were searching for three black men who took the rented, dark-colored Chrysler 300 with Pennsylvania license plates HYJ-68.

Investigators from the FBI, and the Upper Dublin and Philadelphia Police departments were called to join in the search.

Tymire was found alone wandering near 66th and Malvern Streets in Philadelphia street about 4:10 a.m. by police there, according to Upper Dublin police.

Upper Dublin Police Chief Terrence P. Thompson said a Philadelphia Police Officer had been searching several possible locations when he spotted the boy in the city's Overbrook neighborhood.

Tymire was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for evaluation.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call 911.
