In other nonleague action, Lower Merion won, 7-1, at home against Cardinal O'Hara. Six players scored for the Aces, led by senior forward Mark Abi-Khattar, who had two goals and an assist.
Senior forward Timmy Keith scored three goals for Archbishop Carroll in its season-opening 4-0 win over Devon Prep. Senior Michael Gallagher had six saves for the shutout.
Suburban One. Council Rock South took a 2-0 lead on Abington when Dalton Ford and Dan Kockett contributed late second-half goals. Kurt Howard brought Abington within one, but South held on for a 2-1 win.
Public. Frankford won a high-scoring match at University City, 8-5. Mustafa Alghazzawi, a 16-year-old senior, scored twice for the Pioneers in the first half as they jumped out to a 3-2 lead. Frankford added five goals in the second half to secure the win.
Fredlyn Giles and Jene Seme each scored two goals for Frankford. Malik Morancie had a hat trick for the losing Jaguars.
Bicentennial. Delco Christian shut out visiting Calvary Christian, 7-0. Six players scored for the Knights, led by Aaron Terjanian, who had two goals and an assist.
Junior Megan Schafer continued her hot start to the season with her second consecutive hat trick, helping Neshaminy to a 5-0 win over Truman at home.
The junior forward has seven goals through the first three games.
Stephanie Donahue assisted on two of Schafer's goals and Brittany Cotrell had 23 saves for Neshaminy. Fran Donato and Katie Suchodolski each added a goal apiece.
Catholic League. Emily Jeffery recorded a one-save shutout for St. Hubert against Neumann-Goretti, Claire Almand and Elizabeth Jones each scored twice, and Kerri Mattock added one in a 5-0 road victory. Cassidy Rajkowski and Jill Osborn had two assists apiece. The Bambies improved to 2-0.
Aubree Brown scored for Archbishop Wood in the 85th minute of a defensive battle at Lansdale Catholic, giving the Vikings a 1-0 win. Both teams had several chances but with five minutes remaining, Alyssa Messina made a diving stop for Lansdale Catholic. The ball was loose and Brown took advantage, putting the rebound in for the score.
Nonleague. Friends' Central defeated Springside Chestnut Hill, 5-1. Freshman striker Jesse Rubin scored her first two goals, the team's third and fifth of the game. Emma Dahle, Emily Pedesco, and Tess Wei each scored one for the Phoenix.
Council Rock North won handily at home against William Penn. Nicole Moonan scored the first two goals of the game and her season, and Adrianna Rosario tallied late in the second half of a 3-0 triumph.
Senior Ann Burgoyne scored late in the game, on a shot that went in the far end of the cage from the right baseline, giving Mount St. Joseph a 5-4 win at home over Gwynedd-Mercy.
Junior Millie Stefanowitz scored twice and junior Emilee Ehret and Burgoyne each added a goal in a thrilling first half that featured seven goals. Christina Black had 15 saves for the Mount.
Ches-Mont. West Chester East won a 5-0 shutout at home against Octorara. Junior midfielder Charlotte Dafoe came away with her first multigoal game of the season, with two goals. Lizzie Cassidy, Maddy Lewis, and Cassidy Luidens each scored once. Lisa Imburgia stopped the only two shots she saw in net.
In other Ches-Mont action, West Chester Rustin goalkeeper Olivia Keeler stopped 23 shots but the one she didn't stop was the decisive one. Savannah Cabaddu put one in the back of the net, securing a 1-0 win for Downingtown West at home.
West Philadelphia rebounded from an early 14-0 deficit to win, 26-22, at Dobbins in Public League action.
