16-1 Sweet As Your Are races to a win at Parx

The 16-1 Sweet As You Are pulled away to win by three and a half lengths in the $100,000 Mrs. Penny Stakes at Parx on Saturday.

Ridden by Angel Castillo and trained by David Dotolo, Sweet As You Are finished the mile-and-a-sixteenth course on the main track in 1 minute, 47.36 seconds. The LA Thoroughbreds filly paid $35.60 to win.

The $75,000 Roanoke Stakes, run at a mile and a sixteenth for older males, went to Briardale Stable's Tujoes. The 5-year-old gelded son of Oratory, trained by Steve Klesaris, was ridden by Angel Arroyo. The second choice at 2-1, he paid $6.80 to win.

Vicky Schowe's Sloane Ranger survived in the $75,000 Banjo Picker. Trained by Marty Ciresa and ridden by Frankie Pennington, he went off as the 6-5 favorite and paid $4.40 to win.

Three-year-old fillies battled at six furlongs in the $75,000 Dr. Teresa Garofalo Memorial, and the 3-5 favorite, James Courtney's Spring Dance, emerged a convincing 41/2-length winner for trainer Tim Kreiser and jockey Angel Quinones. She paid $3.40 to win.

Closing Vision proved best in the $75,000 Marshall Jenney Handicap, holding off the late run of 3-2 favorite Ricky's Lite to win by three-quarters of a length in the five-furlong race. Owned by Happy Got Lucky Stables Inc., the 5-year-old gelded son of Pollard's Vision paid $8.80 to win. Trained by Scott Lake, he was ridden by Pennington.
