A 28-year-old on probation for assault was charged today in the strangulation death of his pregnant girlfriend in their East Germantown apartment, police said.
Probation officers checking on Roysce Haynes on Monday afternoon found him in his apartment on the 800 block of East Chelten Avenue with the body of Atiya Perry, 24, on the floor of the one-room efficiency, police said.
Police said Perry, who was pregnant, had been strangled on Sunday during an argument, the nature of which was not disclosed.
