Cole's goal lifts Kingsway in soccer

Jason Cole's goal in the 56th minute proved the difference in Kingsway's 2-1 home win over Williamstown in a Tri-County Royal boys' soccer matchup.

Kingsway won the game despite playing the entire second half down a man.

Goalkeeper Jimmy Amorebella made 10 stops behind a short-handed squad to help Kingsway improve to 2-0 on the season and hand Williamstown its first regulation loss.

Nonleague. Deptford capitalized on two goals by Ourmane Sall to top Woodstown, 2-1, at home.

Christian Porreca scored in the second half to send Lenape to a 1-0 win against Shawnee at home.

Jonathon Brunick scored two of Gloucester's three second-half goals in a 3-2 home win over Pennsville.

George School picked up its first win, 1-0, over Princeton Day. Kostas Panagiotakis scored the hosts' only goal in the 14th minute.

Colonial Conference. John Adcock scored on a header with 9 minutes, 47 seconds remaining in the second half to propel Haddon Heights to a 2-1 win on the road against Sterling.

Audubon scored twice in the first half and held on to pick up its first win, 2-1, at home against Woodbury.

Jack Hartzell and Bruce Lawless scored in the first half to lead Collingswood to a 2-1 victory at Overbrook.

Haddonfield topped West Deptford, 2-1, at home behind goals by Jonny Alemi and Alex Johnson.

Nashum Arevalo broke a scoreless tie in the 65th minute when he scored on a penalty kick, which eventually proved to be the game-winning goal in Lindenwold's 1-0 home win over Haddon Township. Luis Carraballo made 11 saves en route to the shutout.


Gerald Owens ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns as West Deptford easily rolled past Lindenwold, 56-8.

Girls' soccer

Ashley Edgell scored twice in just over two minutes in the second half to elevate visiting Ocean City over Millville, 2-1, in a Cape-Atlantic League match.

After Kourtney Smith put Millville ahead with 23:24 remaining in the game, Edgell tied the game with 17:45 left then won it with 15:26 to play.

Colonial Conference. Kylee Schairer scored three minutes into overtime to give Collingswood a 2-1 home win against Overbrook. Samantha Procida made 14 saves to help Collingswood improve to 1-2 on the season.

Nonleague. Maddie Williscroft scored six minutes into the second overtime to give Mainland a 3-2 win over Absegami at home. Marge Dodds tied the game with 10 minutes left in the second half before Williscroft won it with a strike from 25 yards out.

Host Cherry Hill East and Washington Township played to a 2-2 tie. The Minutemaids' Katie Buoni tied the game in the 36th minute of the second half.

Field hockey

Julie Duncan scored twice in the second half to lift Shawnee over Washington Township, 2-1, in a nonleague game at home.

Brooke Hunt scored in the first half and Jess Havers made 13 saves to lead host Cherokee over Cherry Hill East, 1-0.
