Police said Guion was struck multiple times about 3:20 p.m. when a gunman walked up to him at 19th and Federal Streets and opened fire five times with a 9mm handgun.

Guion, who lived a short walk away on the 1100 block of South Cleveland Street, died nearly three hours later at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Acting on a tip, police found a 9mm handgun stuffed in an Adidas track jacket under a car two blocks away. It's not known yet if it was the gun used to kill Guion.
