Sideshow: Green Day's Armstrong goes bonkers

Lead guy Billy Joe Armstrong of art-punkers Green Day went into an onstage rampage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday. He smashed his axe, ran around, and uttered unnice utterances. Rumor: The band was pressed to curtail its set to leave more time for following acts Rihanna and Usher. Festival host Clear Channel denies it. Now BJA's rep says he's checked into rehab for "substance abuse." He landed in hospital earlier this month after returning from Italy.

Local Emmy winners

Give it up, yo, for local heroes who scored Emmys Sunday night at the 30th Annual Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards at the Society Hill Sheraton on Saturday! NBC News president Steve Capus, who started out in Philly 25 years ago, received the prestigious Board of Governors' Award. Local personalities who got Emmys included news anchor Chris May of CBS3, specialty assignment reporters Stephanie Stahl and Jim Donovan of CBS3, sports analyst Marc Zumoff of Comcast SportsNet, videographer Matthew Maiorano of NBC Philadelphia, and weather lady Kathy Orr of CBS3. In all, CBS3 nabbed 13, Comcast SportsNet 10, Eagles Television Network 7, and NBC Philadelphia 6.

Amanda does NYC

After terrorizing L.A. from behind the wheel, Amanda Bynes has quit town for New York. Was she just sick of being followed? Or . . . was it those two convictions of driving without a license, slapped on her Friday in L.A., each of which could carry six months in the slammer? Hmmmm.
