Wed. S.J. boys' and girls' roundup: Kingsway tops Triton

Tom Schmiegel scored in the second overtime to send Kingsway to a 2-1 victory at Triton in a nonleague boys' soccer match on Wednesday.

Kingsway had tied the score, 1-1, in the second half when David Malaquias converted a penalty kick.

Triton goalkeeper James Barnett made 20 saves in a losing effort.

In other nonleague play, GCIT scored three unanswered goals to come from behind and beat visiting Highland in overtime, 3-2.

Jose Bouve, Blaise Colamarino, and Philip Mastoriodis scored in the comeback, and Kevin Burns made nine stops to earn the win.

Kevin Breeze scored in the first half, and Gloucester Catholic held on for a 1-0 win at Cumberland.

Adam Horner made 14 stops and Caiden Lopez scored Pitman's goal as the Panthers topped Penns Grove, 1-0, at home.

Nick Borzio made seven saves and Woodstown shut out visiting Schalick, 3-0. Chase Hellick, Eric Hepler, and Geoff Schaefer scored for the Wolverines. Brandon Bischer made six saves to earn the shutout.

Cape-Atlantic American. Behind a pair of first-half Shane Guyer goals, host Hammonton blanked Ocean City, 2-0. Andrew Slater made eight saves to pick up the shutout.

Tri-County Classic. Jared Irwin and Bobby Mascio scored in the first half, and Wildwood held on for a 2-1 home win against Clayton.

James Mony scored twice and Salem posted a pair of second-half goals in a 3-1 win against visiting Pennsville.

Tri-County Diamond. Brian Palangi netted a pair of goals and Deptford scored four times in the first half to beat Glassboro, 5-2, on the road.

Colonial. Anthony Colofranson picked up a hat trick and an assist in Gateway's 5-0 triumph at Lindenwold.

Burlington County Patriot. Nick Sample scored two goals and visiting New Egypt cruised past Maple Shade, 6-0.

Field Hockey

Erin Misner scored with 2 minutes, 47 seconds left to lift host Rancocas Valley over New Egypt, 2-1, in a nonleague game.

In other nonleague action, Jenna Filippoli broke a scoreless tie in the second half to send Woodstown to a 1-0 win against visiting Schalick.

Nicole Goodwin and Eva Sodaitis scored in the final 16 minutes to push Absegami past visiting Winslow Township, 2-0.

Kelli Moore and Allison Reuter each scored twice in Clayton's 5-0 home win over Palmyra.

Amanda Boulden scored twice and Gloucester topped visiting Williamstown, 5-0.

Beth Patrick had a hat trick in Pitman's 7-1 home win over Penns Grove.

Tri-County Diamond. Sabrie Miller and Rachal Toppi scored in the second half to propel Glassboro to a 2-1 road win against Deptford.

Tri-County Classic. Jasmine Porter's second-half goal salvaged a 1-1 tie for host Salem against Pennsville.

Tri-County Royal. Devon Cassidy scored two goals in Clearview's 3-0 win against visiting Delsea.

Burlington County Freedom. Lexi Smith's five goals carried Florence to a 7-0 victory at Burlington City.

Girls' Soccer

Logen Craig broke a scoreless tie in the second half and Williamstown topped Delsea, 1-0, on the road in a Tri-County match.

In other Tri-County play, Highland erased a four-goal deficit with five goals in the second half, including two by Erin Looby, to beat GCIT, 5-4, on the road.

Tierney Wittshire headed home a game-winner with 15 minutes remaining to send Schalick to a 2-1 home win over Woodstown.

Gloucester Catholic topped Cumberland, 4-0, at home behind four goals by Maddie Hogan.

Carla Mancini had two goals and three assists and Glassboro dropped host Deptford, 6-0.

Pennsville scored five second-half goals and blew out visiting Salem, 6-0.

Nonleague. Maria Kirby made eight stops for host Kingsway and shut out Triton, 2-0.

Rebecca Williams had three goals and an assist in Pitman's 5-0 win at Penns Grove.

Colonial. Geena DiRugeris scored twice and Woodbury scored three times in the second half to beat visiting Paulsboro, 4-1.

Kelly Diehle scored two goals in Gateway's 6-0 home win vs. Lindenwold.
