Here is a closer look at Friday night's clash.
Coaches. Chad Brubaker is in his third season at Spring-Ford; Rick Pennypacker is in his 24th year at Pottsgrove.
Key injury. The Rams are without junior tailback Jarred Jones, who suffered a broken wrist in a 56-31 win at Pope John Paul II in Week 3. The Division I-A recruit was lost for five to eight weeks.
Catalysts. The Falcons' veer option is spurred by tailback Mark Dukes (37 carries for 343 yards, nine touchdowns) and quarterback Tory Hudgins (28 for 377, six).
Focal points. Without Jones, Spring-Ford has turned to Yousef Lundi, a 6-foot, 200-pound running back, and speedy wideout Tate Carter. In a wildcat formation, Carter sometimes takes direct snaps from center.
Up front. Pottsgrove's offensive line is anchored by tackles Madison O'Connor (6-6, 340) and Patrick Finn (6-3, 220) and center Zach Birch (5-10, 210).
Under center. Hank Coyne, a three-year starter at quarterback for the Rams, has completed 45 of 74 passes for 579 yards and seven TDs.
Another threat. The Falcons' Mike Fowler, a 5-10, 165-pound sophomore, is dangerous as a receiver and kick returner.
Leading the way. Spring-Ford's offensive line is spearheaded by senior tackles Mike Gilmore (6-3, 245) and Justin Meals (6-2, 270). Both are second-year starters.
Intriguing duel. O'Connor, who is drawing interest from Boston College and Pittsburgh, likely will be matched against Rams defensive end Zameer McDowell (6-5, 220).
Pass catchers. Coyne's top targets are Carter (13 receptions for 180 yards, two TDs) and fellow wideouts Gary Hopkins (12 for 149, two) and Ben Schein.
Stout group. Pottsgrove's defense is headed by end Finn, tackle Birch, nose guard Anthony Pond, linebacker Nick Brennan, and cornerbacks Fowler and Marquis Barefield.
Set for the veer. Spring-Ford's run-stopping efforts are led by ends McDowell and R.J. Sheldon, tackle Mason Romano, outside linebacker Ian Hare, and strong safety Travis Daywalt.
Analysis. Spring-Ford has 88 players on its roster; Pottsgrove, with five or six two-way starters, has 45. That gives the deeper Rams an edge on the revenge-minded Falcons.
Pick. Spring-Ford, 27-21.
