Tolls won’t rise on Tacony, Burlington-Bristol Bridges

Posted: September 28, 2012

The Burlington County Bridge Commission, which operates the Tacony-Palmyra and Burlington-Bristol toll bridges, has approved a new annual budget that keeps auto tolls at the current $2.

Tolls on the spans have not gone up since 2000, while those on nearby bridges operated by the Delaware River Port Authority have risen 67 percent, to $5.

The operating budget for fiscal 2013, which begins Monday, is $30.6 million, the same as in fiscal 2012.

The capital budget, which pays for such things as deck replacement on the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge and repairs to the Burlington-Bristol Bridge operating and machinery room, was set at $42.7 million, down from $43.3 million in fiscal 2012.    - Paul Nussbaum
