Mick McGroarty, who has coached for 38 years, won nine league championships, and is credited with starting Catholic League girls' soccer, can now add 400 career wins to his resume.

McGroarty guided his St. Hubert team to a 7-2 victory at Bishop McDevitt on Thursday, and earned his 400th career win, one that had eluded him the past three games.

"We had to get it over with. It was starting to weigh on everyone's mind except mine," McGroarty said. "The way we played the last two games, you could tell they were thinking about it."

The Bambies jumped out to a 4-1 lead to make sure this game would be the one. They added three goals in the second half to secure the victory.

Kerri Mattock and Cassidy Rajkowski each scored twice for St. Hubert in the winning effort.

"A lot of people came to the last three games to see the possibility of the 400th win," McGroarty said.

The last three chances were at home before this road match, but there was still some special people in attendance for the coach.

"Two girls who attended today were on my original team. It was very nice of everyone to come," McGroarty said, before adding that they would be celebrating at Chickie's and Pete's.
