Temple field hockey falls to Maryland

Temple's field hockey team saw its four-game win streak snapped with a 6-0 loss to host Maryland in College Park on Sunday.

The two-time defending national champion Terrapins improved to 8-2 while the Owls fell to 6-6.

Both teams recorded 11 shots in the second half, and after trailing by 5-0 at halftime, the Owls allowed the Terps just a single goal in the second half.

Temple goalkeeper Lizzy Millen made nine saves, and Haley Mitchell replaced her for the final 18 minutes and recorded three saves.

La Salle's Maddy Tettelbach scored four minutes into the game and the La Salle defense recorded its third shutout of the season to beat visiting Sacred Heart, 2-0.

Olivia Shoemaker (Souderton) scored her team-best fifth goal of the season in the 54th minute.

Drexel's Amanda Fleischut scored two goals, including the game-winner, as the Dragons (9-3) posted a 3-2 overtime victory over New Hampshire.

Swarthmore's Nia Jones scored in the 68th minute, but the Garnet (6-5, 1-3 Centennial Conference) fell to Johns Hopkins (5-4, 2-1) by a score of 4-1.

Amy McKeever (West Deptford) scored the winning goal as Rowan University grabbed a 2-1 victory at SUNY-New Paltz.

Women's soccer. La Salle's Anna Dolhansky (Triton Regional) netted her second game-winning goal of the weekend to propel the Explorers past conference foe Duquense in overtime, 1-0.

Drexel's Biz Matta and Gabby Dixon scored to give the Dragons (8-2-2 overall, 2-1-1 Colonial Athletic Association) a 2-0 win over Georgia State.

Eve Badana, who picked up her sixth shutout of the year, faced just one shot on net, and she turned that aside.

Women's tennis. St. Joseph's freshman Kristina Eisenbrand topped teammate Aurora Davis for the title at the second-singles flight, and the Hawks finished as runners-up in both doubles flights Sunday in the final day of play at the SJU Invitational.

Volleyball. Lincoln University concluded the CIAA Round-up with a 3-1 loss to Livingstone College in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Erica McClain (Kennett) had 25 assists and 10 digs.
