He made it less than a block before he hit five parked cars, police said. No injuries were reported and neighbors were able to hold the youth until police arrived.
The boy will be charged with stealing an automobile and related offenses.
Frankford man killed near home * Saul Street near Bridge
A 52-year-old man who was critically wounded in a shooting Friday night on Saul Street near Bridge, in Frankford, was pronounced dead early Saturday morning.
Shots were fired just before 10:30 p.m., hitting Jose Rodriguez in his chest, abdomen and legs. Police found 11 .45-caliber shell casings on the sidewalk. Officers from the 15th District took Rodriguez to Temple University Hospital, while investigators remained on the scene about 11:15 p.m. searching for evidence as neighbors looked on from behind their screen doors.
There were no witnesses, police said, and a detailed description of the assailant was not immediately available.
One dead in Strawberry Mansion

A 23-year-old man was shot to death Sunday afternoon in Strawberry Mansion, on West Arizona Street near 32nd.
Police said that the victim, who was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital shortly before 2:30 p.m., was shot multiple times in the abdomen and torso by a bike-riding black male wearing a red hoodie.
The shooter was seen nearby in the area of 32nd and Cumberland. He is believed to have removed the hoodie and was wearing a grey T-shirt underneath.
Mother assaulted by son
* 54th Street near Wyalusing
An 88-year-old woman was assaulted Sunday morning by her 55-year-old son at 54th Street near Wyalusing and suffered a laceration to her head.
The mother, who was not identified, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition. The son ran, cops said.
