Crist's late goal lifts Spring-Ford

After 89 minutes of scoreless soccer, Ryan Crist's overtime winner gave Spring-Ford a 1-0 victory over Pioneer Athletic Conference rivals Perkiomen Valley (7-6-1, 6-3-1 PAC).

Nine minutes into the extra frame, Spring-Ford (10-3-1, 7-2-1) sent a long throw-in to Crist at the far post, who tapped the ball past Viking keeper JR Wolsky.

Despite a tenacious late rally, Owen J. Roberts fell to host Boyertown, 3-2.

Senior striker Aaron Kulig had two goals and an assist for the victors (11-2, 9-1 PAC), who took a 3-0 lead and withstood two goals in the final quarter-hour from Owen J. Roberts (4-4-2, 4-3-1).

Pottsgrove sophomore Rushawn Larmond netted two long-range goals and set up one of classmate Sean O'Brien's two, leading the Falcons (6-5, 4-5 PAC) to a 5-1 defeat of visiting Pope John Paul II (2-9, 2-7).

Public

8-1 Franklin Towne Charter (7-0 Public League) needed an overtime goal from Dave McGhee to eke out a 2-1 Public League victory over Lincoln (2-4, 2-4).

Lincoln's Hashem Abdulrasool ended keeper Brandon McGuire's six-match shutout streak in the first half, but Chris Hartman equalized in the 55th minute to send the game into overtime, setting the stage for McGhee's heroics.

Edison's Ricardo Valdes bagged a hat trick while propelling his side past visiting Germantown, 4-2.

The Bears' Alpha Tagbo scored his 16th and 17th goals in rapid succession, evening the match early in the second half, before Valdes took over.

His penalty kick with five minutes remaining put Edison (4-2, 4-2 Public League) back on top, and he added one more to keep Germantown (3-3, 3-3) at bay.

Senior midfielder Ryan Stevens scored twice in the first half, and added a penalty in the second, to lead Washington (7-0, 6-0 Public League) to a 5-1 victory against Bartram (1-5, 1-5).

Masterman's senior tandem of Joey Powell and Harry Taggart each netted two as their Blue Dragons (5-2, 5-2 Public League) rolled to a 4-1 road win over Central (5-4, 5-3).

Furness leading scorer Atta Ullah recorded his third hat trick of the campaign, blasting the Falcons (5-0, 5-0 Public League) to a 4-1 victory over Science Leadership Academy, the first loss of the season for the 3-1-0 Rockets.

Senior forward Andy Jean Pierre paced Northeast with two goals, his double spurring the Vikings (7-1, 7-0 Public League) to a 5-0 win over sputtering Prep Charter (1-4, 1-4).

Jean Pierre increased his team-leading total to 15 goals, and was joined on the score sheet by Sam Chan, Jorge Chavez and Tyler Gormley.

Bicentennial

Senior midfielder George Stock recorded a goal and an assist, and Phil-Mont Christian (3-5-1, 2-1-0 Bicentennial League) saw four players hit net as they rolled to a 4-1 victory over visiting MaST Charter (1-7-1, 0-4-1).  

Catholic

Roman Catholic senior Anthony Bottoms scored twice in the Cahillites 5-0 win at Bishop McDevitt.

Football

Pennsbury rushed for 366 yards on the ground on their way to a 28-7 Suburban One National win over visiting Council Rock South.

Senior tailback Shawn Pepper rumbled for 214 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, scoring from one, 49, and 74 yards out.

Daquan Mack chipped in with 13 rushes for 99 yards and a touchdown, as Pennsbury moved to 3-2 (2-0 Suburban One).

Tyler Anderson, Council Rock South's junior halfback, tried valiantly to keep his team in the game, carrying the ball 30 times for 182 yards and the lone touchdown for the Golden Hawks (0-5, 0-2).

Golf

Central Bucks East senior Stewart Rickenbach won the Suburban One League Men's Golf championship on Monday, shooting a 3-under 69 at Indian Valley Country Club.

He was narrowly trailed by Tom Fisher of Hatboro-Horsham, with a 72, and Wissahickon's Jalen Griffin, who shot a 1-over 73.
