Katherine Cascio Brown, 91, who retired in 1997 as a vice president at the McGettigan travel agency in Philadelphia, died of pneumonia and Parkinson's disease on Friday, Sept. 28, at Sunrise of Westtown, a retirement community where she had lived since early 2012. Since 2006, she had resided in Kennett Square.
Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Brown graduated from South Philadelphia High School in 1938 and was a secretary in the 1930s and 1940s at the refinery of the Atlantic Richfield Co.
From the 1960s, her duties at the travel agency included conducting tours, mostly in Europe, her son William said Monday in a phone interview.
