PPA: 3 more red light cameras for Northeast Philly

Posted: October 04, 2012

The Philadelphia Parking Authority said Wednesday that red light cameras are planned at three more intersections in Northeast Philadelphia. No timetable was given for turning on the cameras.

The announcement was made on the PPA's Facebook page.

The cameras will be turned on at:

- Knights and Woodhaven Roads

- Grant Avenue and Academy Road

- Bustleton Avenue and Byberry Road

In a report issued last month, the PPA said revenue from the red light cameras for the fiscal year April 2011 through March 2012 netted about $3 million in income.

As of March, there were 21 intersections in Philadelphia with 96 cameras in the program. Nine of those intersections are along Roosevelt Boulevard.
