7. Dreaming of Julia . . . John Velazquez. . . 2-5
If you want to accuse me of trying to pad my percentage of winners, I plead guilty this time. I just have to love Dreaming of Julia who has won her two races by a combined 26 3/4 lengths. As the second year of picks commences, I am 52-for-154 (33.8 percent). Won't be making any money with this pick, but it should help the stats. My Happy Face is probably running for second, but it's still hard to ignore a 21 1/4-length win in her second race. The early pace of this race will be fascinating and really fast. Sweet Shirley Mae was second to unbeaten So Many Ways in two Saratoga stakes.

Goldencents ran like a wild horse in his debut at Del Mar. Trainer Doug O'Neill (remember him?) brings this talented colt east after watching him get a 93 Beyer figure. Shanghai Bobby has won all three of his races, including a terrific run in the Hopeful. Archwarrior won his only start at 1-5. Could be some potential Kentucky Derby horses in here. Pay close attention.

Wise Dan won't win anybody much money here, but he is unlike any top horse in memory. This horse has won Grade I stakes on turf and dirt and might be best on artificial surfaces, where he is 5-for-7. Wherever he runs, this is some race horse. Wind him up and he runs like the wind. Data Link is a touch below the top grass horses, but he gives big effort every time. Doubles Partner has won half his grass starts, giving a similar performance every time.
