Tues. S.J. boys' roundup: C.H. East succeeds in double OT

Garrett McVeigh scored in double overtime Tuesday to send Cherry Hill East to a 2-1 overtime win over visiting Shawnee in nonleague boys' soccer.

Jake Stafford sent a pass over two defenders to the inside and connected with McVeigh, who found the right corner from 12 yards for the winner.

Stafford had put the Cougars on the board six minutes into the second half. The Renegades tied the game with 20 minutes to go, when Ryan Ruble scored.

In other nonleague play:

Jon Mackie scored for the fourth straight game to lead host Holy Cross over Burlington Township, 2-1. Mackie, who has seven goals over his last four games, scored 12 minutes into the game on a cross from Danny Schmidt. Nick Griffin added an insurance goal with 16 minutes remaining. Danny Komisky ruined Holy Cross' shutout when he scored with four minutes left.

Conor McFadden broke a scoreless tie in overtime to send Cherry Hill West to a 1-0 win at Camden Catholic. Six minutes into the first overtime, McFadden beat two defenders and sent a rocket into the top left corner from 20 yards.

Nick Stovall-Kurtz scored twice, and Florence shut out visiting Maple Shade, 3-0. Stovall-Kurtz scored in each half on a give-and-go.

Cumberland outshot Pennsville, 21-2, on the road and earned a 5-1 victory. Scott DeLussa paced the Colts with two goals, and Fred Beck, Brandon Bischer, and Tyler Skye added scores.

Ceaser Gonzalez's hat trick led Medford Tech to a 6-0 win over visiting Willingboro. Ibrahim Gocmon, Duane Tracy, and Marquise Wade rounded out the scoring.

Travis Ward picked up a hat trick, and New Egypt cruised to a 7-0 victory against Riverside. Nick Sample added a pair of goals and Vinny Masitti collected three assists for the Warriors. Connor Ingenbrandt made five saves and Ryan Grasso had three stops to split the shutout. Adam Coyle scored a goal and had two assists, and Kenny Johnston had a goal and an assist.

Vincent Palmucci scored twice, and Timber Creek won at Winslow Township, 4-0.

Moorestown Friends broke loose for six first-half goals and cruised to a 7-1 victory against Academy of the New Church. Ethan Carilli highlighted the Foxes attack with four goals, and Matt Mullock chipped in two and Andy Cook also scored.

Cape-Atlantic American. Ardit Ala scored two of Egg Harbor Township's three first-half goals, and the Eagles held on for a 3-1 win at Atlantic City.

In a losing effort, Atlantic City's Akwasi Adu scored his 18th goal of the season, breaking the school's single-season record.

Olympic American. Ed McCusker scored two goals, and Washington Township shut out visiting Eastern, 4-0. James Jackson and Joe Lubonski combined to make four saves and earn the shutout.

Kyle Doms and Derek MacKinnon netted goals to finish the scoring, and Vince Guzzo picked up two assists.

Washington Township outshot Eastern, 12-4.

Colonial. Luis Caraballo made four saves to earn a shutout, and Lindenwold beat visiting Overbrook, 4-0.
