A man was shot seven times Thursday afternoon in a double shooting outside an auto-repair shop in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.

Around 3:30 p.m., two men walked up to one of the customers, who was having his car fixed at the shop in the 5400 block of Paschall Avenue, and opened fire, said Lt. John Walker of Southwest Detectives.

The victim, a 34-year-old who police believe was the intended target, was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was listed in critical condition.

A 39-year-old employee at the shop, who was under the hood of the car, was shot in the left leg. He was transported by a friend to the same hospital and was reported in stable condition.

More than 22 shots were fired, Walker said.

No arrests were reported.
