Thurs. S.J. boys' roundup: Eastern wins in overtime

Scott Gillman finished off an overtime cross from Justin Fendrick as Eastern rallied past host Cherry Hill East, 2-1, in an Olympic Conference soccer game.

With 2 minutes remaining in the extra period, Fendrick delivered a cross from the left side, which was tapped in by Gillman at the far post.

Logan Edwards tied the score at 1 with 8 minutes left in regulation on a blast from 14 yards out.

Corey Brodkin posted the win with nine saves. Matt DiPatri recorded 10 saves for Cherry Hill East.

In other Olympic action, three goal scorers paced Cherry Hill West to a 3-1 win at Winslow Township. Chris Brandu, Michael Juan and David Pyle led the Lions. Leo Bracey scored for Winslow.

A pair of goals from two different players helped Timber Creek roll past visiting Camden Catholic, 6-0.

Alex Kourahanis and Vincent Palmucci led the way with a pair of goals each. Kourahanis also added one assist.

Joe Burton and Matthew Hershey added goals for Timber Creek and Trevor Tierno posted two saves in the shutout.

James Jackson needed just three saves to post a shutout as visiting Washington Township blanked Lenape, 3-0.

Eric Jordan, Derek MacKinnon and Matt McLeod scored once each to lead the Minutemen. Vince Guzzo added a pair of assists and Kyle Doms added one more.

Nick Maricondi posted 11 saves for Lenape.

Burlington County. Sophomore forward Mark Staudenmayer recorded a pair of assists to help Cinnaminson knock off visiting Burlington Township, 2-0.

Luke Garvey picked up the shutout with four saves. Andrew DeBellis and Kevin Sotell scored for the Pirates, both in the first half.

John Fosbenner delivered a nice pass to Pat Franecki, who finished it for a first-half goal, and host Palmyra held on to knock off Florence, 1-0. James Brett posted the win with five saves.

Nonleague. Jon Mackie scored a pair of goals and Matt Paradise posted the three-save shutout as Holy Cross blanked visiting Pemberton, 3-0. Mackie, a senior, scored once each in each half. Donald Barnes, Tyler Giamboy and Dan Schmid also scored for the Lancers.

Eric Soffronoff scored a pair of goals as Moorestown scored twice in the first half en route to dropping visiting Pennsauken, 5-1.

He scored with 7:52 left in the second half and followed again with just 3 seconds left.

Josh Eberle, Mike Kassak and Tim White also scored. J.T. Bretschneider posted the win with a pair of saves.

Andrew Fryer and Ryan Ruble scored for host Shawnee as the Renegades played to a 2-2 tie against Cherokee.

Tyler Caton posted 13 saves and Mark Ianelli and Dom Silverstro recorded assists.
