Fri. S.J. boys' and girls' roundup: McTamney moves closer to 100

Alexis McTamney tallied a hat trick Friday as Bordentown defeated Maple Shade, 5-1, a Burlington County League girls' soccer game.

McTamney increased her career goals total to 99, and added two assists. She will try for No. 100 at home against Northern Burlington at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Bordentown goaltender Allyson Potts stopped seven of the eight shots she faced.

S.J. Coaches Tournament. Four players scored as Shawnee advanced over Washington Township, 4-0.

Ariana Gerber, Amanda Hartwell-Miller, Erin Smith, and Dana Spires scored goals.

Caroline Farley and Glade Nugent combined for seven saves in the shutout.

Cape-Atlantic League. Abby Carey scored twice as Mainland defeated Oakcrest, 4-1. Carey, a senior, has eight goals this season.

Shea Scannell scored for Mainland on a penalty kick in the first half. Scannell, a sophomore, has seven goals.

Colonial Conference. Sterling received goals from four players as the Silver Knights shut out Collingswood, 4-0. Rachel Adamski, Brianna Manko, Caelin O'Neill, and Sabrina Shinkowitz tallied goals.

Janelle Orsino stopped five shots as Gateway topped Audubon, 2-0. Audubon goalkeeper Meagan Schaefer had 22 saves.

Field Hockey

Brooke Robinson scored the game-winner with 1 minute, 54 seconds remaining as Cinnaminson defeated Delran, 3-2, in a Burlington County Patriot game.

Grace Shallow tied the game for Cinnaminson with a little more than 15 minutes remaining.

Hannah Hamblin scored both goals for Delran.

Nonleague. Kylee Hirst tallied a hat trick for Gloucester in an 8-0 victory over Penns Grove. Hirst, a sophomore, scored two of her three goals in the second half and also added an assist. Amanda Boulden scored twice for the Lions.

Eva Sodaitis scored in the first half as Absegami triumphed over Cedar Creek, 1-0. Audrey DelRe had 10 saves in the shutout for the Braves. Katherine Gulig made five saves for Cedar Creek.

Burlington County Liberty. Sarah Powell scored both goals for Moorestown as the Quakers defeated Rancocas Valley, 2-0.

Laya Mallela stopped seven shots to earn the shutout.

Burlington County Freedom. Burlington City's and Medford Tech's goaltending led the way in a 0-0 draw.

Burlington City's Cara Martin made nine saves, and Medford Tech's Amber Davis stopped five shots.

Boys' Soccer

Trevor Tierno stopped eight shots as Timber Creek held on to beat Williamstown, 2-1, in the first round of the South Jersey Coaches Tournament.

Timber Creek was ahead, 2-0, before a goal midway through the second half from Williamstown's Ryan Mellen cut the lead in half. Williamstown goalkeeper Dave Debreceni stopped 10 shots.

Also in the Coaches Tournament, Colin Keyes scored in overtime as Lenape overcame Gateway, 2-1. Anthony Colofranson scored for Gateway in the 30th minute of the second half to force the overtime period.

Colonial. Jesse Weick scored both goals as Haddon Heights defeated New Egypt, 2-1, in a Colonial Conference game.

New Egypt's goal, from Hunter Lang, was the first Haddon Heights has allowed in its past nine games.

Cape-Atlantic American. Atlantic City's Akwasi Adu scored twice in a 4-1 victory over Vineland.

Adu was injured in the second half after colliding with Vineland's goalie. Adu was granted a penalty kick, but was too shaken up to take it. Teammate Alexis Mendoza took his place and scored on the PK.

Adu returned later in the game to score his second goal.

Nonleague. Cedric Konan recorded a hat trick and Peter DeLaGarza added two goals as Pemberton downed Willingboro, 8-0. Johny Hall made four saves in the shutout.

Miguel Hernandez tallied a hat trick as Buena defeated Winslow Township, 5-0. Jake Bleyhl stopped all four shots he faced for Buena.

Tri-County Classic. Dean Davidson scored twice for Clayton in a 2-2 draw with Pennsville. Cade Gilson assisted on both Davidson goals, and goalkeeper Derek Foglein stopped seven shots.

Pennsville goalie Sean Digerness stopped 11 shots.
