Sat. Pa. boys' and girls' roundup: Conestoga pair tops Conestoga pair

Lauren Banner and Lipika Gadila of Conestoga defeated Lauren Gee and Caylee Yan, also of Conestoga, to earn first place in the Central League girls' tennis doubles tournament on Saturday.

Gee and Yan won the first set, 7-6 (8-6), but Banner and Gadila took the next two sets, 6-1 and 6-2, to win the tournament.

In the third-place match, Renee Simms and Jen White of Harriton defeated Rylee Power and Madison Murphy of Marple Newtown, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Boys' Soccer

Jamie Forrest scored in double overtime as Hill School defeated Hun School, 4-3, in a nonleague game. Colten Habecker scored twice in the second half for Hill to send the game to overtime. Felix Dalstein scored twice for Hun.

In other nonleague action:

Danny Coleman scored after a corner kick with ten minutes remaining to send Chichester to a 3-2 victory over Truman. Rick Blair added nine saves for the Eagles.

Sam Blumenthal made 12 saves as Harriton topped Friends' Central, 2-0. Blumentahl has seven shutouts this season. Harriton's goals were scored by Zach Herman and Cody Wax. Jerome Allen had 11 saves for Friends' Central.

Sean O'Brien scored the overtime winner as Pottsgrove defeated Springfield (Delco), 3-2. Rushawn Larmond scored in the 48th minute to tie the game for Pottsgrove.

Connor Yu stopped four shots as Lower Merion beat Archbishop Carroll, 2-0. Matt Lindheim and Tyler Robinson scored for the Aces.

Ches-Mont League. West Chester Rustin rallied for three goals in the second half to defeat Sun Valley, 4-2. Justin Lucker, Jamison MacMain, and Jay Ringer each scored for the Golden Knights in the second half.

Girls' Soccer

Brittany Robinson scored twice as Archbishop Ryan shut out Bonner-Prendergast, 5-0, in a Catholic League match. Scarlett Walsh scored and added an assist.

Goalkeeper Jasmine Gonzales earned the shutout as Ryan didn't allow a shot on goal.

Nonleague. Julia Kyne scored twice as Delco Christian defeated Upper Darby, 4-0. Kailey Neef added a goal and two assists. Kyne has 19 goals, while Neef has 19 assists this season.

Sarafina Valenti recorded her 13th straight shutout as Boyertown was victorious over Downingtown West, 1-0. Valenti, a freshman, made two saves. Robyn Piveteau scored the game-winner in the 53d minute.

Becca Stevens and Emily Toal registered goals as Great Valley beat Springfield (D), 2-0. Carol Burgess stopped all six shots she faced for Great Valley.

Marley Jennings scored the only goal as Conestoga downed Unionville, 1-0. Jennings scored in the 24th minute off an assist from Grave Edgarton. Ali Maneri made three saves to record the shutout.

Kirsten Wilhelmsen scored in the second half to lift Strath Haven over West Chester East, 1-0. Wilhelmsen scored in the 60th minute off a direct kick from Allie Wilson. Krissy Welsh made two saves for Strath Haven.

Andrea Gunderson scored the game-winner late in the first half as West Chester Rustin defeated North Penn, 1-0. Ashley Rundell recorded five saves to clinch the shutout.

Field Hockey

Corey Mayer's goal was enough for Lower Moreland in a 1-0 victory over Christopher Dock in a Bicentennial League match.

Claire McPherson made 10 saves for the shutout. Marissa Souder stopped 10 shots for Christopher Dock.

Nonleague. Lindsey Hoffman scored as Great Valley won over Springfield (D), 1-0.

Jordan Keith had the assist on the goal, and Krissy Neary made one save for the Patriots.
