Theo Riddick ran for a career-high 143 yards, and Cierre Wood added 114 yards as No. 5 Notre Dame rallied for a 17-14 victory over Brigham Young on Saturday in South Bend, Ind.

Riddick had runs of 55 and 27, the two longest rushes of his career, to pace Notre Dame (7-0), which is off to its best start in a decade and has a big game ahead against No. 10 Oklahoma next week. The Cougars (4-4) fell to 0-3 on the road as they surrendered a season-high 270 yards rushing by an opponent.

Backup quarterback Tommy Rees, starting in place of injured Everett Golson, completed 6 of 7 passes in the first quarter for 86 yards and a touchdown, completing four of those to Tyler Eifert.

Florida 44, South Carolina 11 - Jeff Driskel threw four touchdown passes and the No. 3 Gators (7-0 SEC) matched their win total from last season with a drubbing of the ninth-ranked Gamecocks (6-2, 4-2) in Gainesville, Fla.

Texas Tech 56, Texas Christian 53 - Seth Doege threw seven touchdowns, three in overtime, and the No. 18 Red Raiders (6-1, 3-1 Big 12) beat the Horned Frogs (5-2, 2-2) in three overtimes in Fort Worth, Texas, after blowing a late 10-point lead.

The game-winning pass was an 8-yard throw to Alex Torres, which came four plays after Jaden Oberkrom's school-record sixth field goal had put TCU ahead. Both teams scored TDs in the first two OT periods.

Kansas State 55, West Virginia 14 - Collin Klein ran for four touchdowns and threw three TD passes as the No. 4 Wildcats (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) got little resistance from the No. 17 Mountaineers (5-2, 2-2) in Morgantown, W.Va.

Georgia 29, Kentucky 24 - Aaron Murray threw four touchdown passes to rally the No. 13 Bulldogs (6-2, 4-1 SEC) over the stubborn Wildcats (1-7, 0-5) in Lexington, Ky.

Alabama 44, Tennessee 13 - Amari Cooper caught two of A.J. McCarron's four TD passes as the No. 1 Crimson Tide (7-0, 4-0 SEC) defeated the Vols (3-4, 0-4) in Knoxville, Tenn.

Louisiana State 24, Texas A&M 19 - Jeremy Hill rushed for a career-high 127 yards and a touchdown, and the No. 6 Tigers (7-1, 3-1 SEC) rallied to beat the No. 20 Aggies (5-2, 2-2) in College Station, Texas.

Florida State 33, Miami 20 - EJ Manuel threw for 229 yards, Devonta Freeman ran for a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns, and the No. 12 Seminoles (7-1, 4-1 ACC) overcame a shaky start to beat the host Hurricanes (4-4, 3-2).

Southern California 50, Colorado 6 - Matt Barkley threw for 298 yards and six touchdowns for the 11th-ranked Trojans (6-1, 4-1 Pac-12) in the win over the Buffaloes (1-6, 1-3).

Stanford 21, California 3 - Stepfan Taylor ran for a career-high 189 yards and the No. 22 Cardinal (5-2, 3-1 Pac-12) overwhelmed the Golden Bears (3-5, 2-3) in Berkeley, Calif.

Mississippi State 45, Middle Tennessee 3 - Tyler Russell threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns, and the No. 15 Bulldogs (7-0) pulled away in the second half to beat the Blue Raiders (4-3) in Starkville, Miss.

Oklahoma 52, Kansas 7 - Landry Jones threw for 291 yards and three touchdowns, and the No. 10 Sooners (5-1, 3-1 Big 12) scored on a kickoff return and a punt return while clobbering the Jayhawks (1-6, 0-4) in Norman, Okla.

Boise State 32, UNLV 7 - D.J. Harper rushed for two touchdowns, and the No. 24 Broncos defense had one to help host Boise State (6-1, 3-0 Mountain West) rout the Rebels (1-7. 1-2).

Clemson 38, Virginia Tech 17 - Tajh Boyd ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as the No. 14 Tigers (6-1, 3-1 ACC) beat the Hokies (4-4, 2-2) in Clemson, S.C.

Texas 56, Baylor 50 - Joe Bergeron ran for five touchdowns, and the Longhorns (5-2, 2-2 Big 12) outlasted the Bears (3-3, 0-3) in Austin, Texas.

Air Force 28, New Mexico 23 - Wes Cobb scored on a trio of 1-yard runs, and the host Falcons (4-3, 2-1) overcame Kasey Carrier's Mountain West Conference-record 338 yards rushing with a win over the Lobos (4-4, 1-2) despite losing Cody Getz, the nation's second-leading rusher.

Eastern Michigan 48, Army 38 - Tyler Benz threw a career-high five touchdown passes, and the Eagles (1-6) won their first game of the season, beating the Black Knights (1-6) in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Mount Union 51, Otterbein 0 - T.J. Lattimore rushed for three TDs as the top-ranked D-III Purple Raiders (7-0, 6-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) blanked the Cardinals (5-2, 4-2) for their 70th consecutive regular-season win, an NCAA-record sixth shutout, and head coach Larry Kehres' 324th victory, moving him past Paul "Bear" Bryant for fourth on college football's all-time wins list.
