Sweet, polite, and affectionate, Raheem, 12, is very outgoing. He gets along well with other children and is very helpful. He loves animals, especially dogs. One of his favorite activities is walking his dog, and he is trying to train him to do tricks. Raheem loves football and watches as many games as he can on television. He also enjoys playing video games. He has a good appetite and always finishes the meat and vegetables on his plate.

Raheem is very good at completing crossword puzzles and can even find words that are spelled backward. In school, he has a positive attitude and likes learning new skills. His teacher says that he puts a great deal of effort into trying to do his best in math and reading.

Like his older brother, Laquan (profiled last week), Raheem needs the love and attention of a permanent family. The brothers are very close and need to be adopted together. The ideal family for them would provide a nurturing, structured environment as well as an abundance of love and attention. Raheem would be delighted if the family had a dog.

The siblings and other children are available for adoption by approved applicants. For a free information packet contact the National Adoption Center, 1500 Walnut St., Suite 701, Philadelphia 19102. Call 215-735-9988, or visit the website at www.adopt.org.
